About AETO and Structure of Pupillage
2 King's Bench Walk
2 King's Bench Walk is a thriving set of chambers whose areas of practice include criminal, family, civil, regulatory, employment, licensing and immigration law. Whilst we have now grown to over 70 members of chambers, we remain true to our heritage of being a warm and friendly set. Pupillage is of the utmost importance to us, as we aspire to help train the next generation of first class barristers.
In criminal law, we undertake instructions from the prosecution and defence and appear in the most high-profile cases across London, the Southeast and Midlands. The two pupillages being offered will be exclusively within our crime team, offering an excellent opportunity to be trained by some of the best criminal practitioners on the circuits.
During the first six months, pupils will spend time with their supervisors in court on a daily basis. They will receive advocacy training and undertake research and written work for members of chambers.
During the second six months, pupils will receive instructions in their own name and can expect to be in court on a daily basis. Whilst there will be some magistrates work, the majority of instructions will be in the crown court. Chambers has a proud history of offering pupils regular, good quality crown court work from the outset. Supervisors and other members of chambers are always available to offer help and guidance to ensure pupils can start their careers with confidence.
