Pupillage Vacancy Information
Chambers selects candidates solely on merit, seeking to ensure that we reflect the community we serve. Applications from groups traditionally underrepresented at the Bar are strongly encouraged.
We offer two 12-month common law pupillages, allowing our pupils the opportunity to see the breadth of Chambers’ practice across family, crime and civil.
Pupils have their own allocated supervisor throughout pupillage. They will spend roughly two months in each practice in their first six, with the opportunity to spend time with our most junior tenants towards the end of this period so that they are fully prepared for the types of cases they will be involved with in their second six.
Chambers’ also has a training programme of at least monthly sessions to ensure that Pupils meet the competencies as set out in the Bar Standards Board’s Professional Statement, and so that they feel ready to start conducting their own cases when the time comes.
This training programme, alongside the split structure of the first six, gives our pupils the opportunity to meet members of Chambers and the Local Bar and start to forge the relationships which will hopefully take them through the rest of their career.
We offer £1,755 per month in the first six; followed by guaranteed earnings of at least £1,755 in the second six, plus an allowance for out of area travel..
