Contract Law Chambers – 12 Months – October 2025

Pupillage Vacancy Information

About Authorised Education and Training Organisation and Structure of Pupillage
Contract Law Chambers is offering up to two 12-month pupillages in the 2025/26 year to those who have a particular interest in a commercial practice.  We offer pupillages to those applicants who we believe have a realistic prospect of achieving a tenancy with us.  Importantly, our pupils are not in competition with one another for a tenancy but are assessed solely on their own abilities and performance.

We are offering up to two pupillages of 12 months’ duration, commencing in October 2025.

We look for candidates who can demonstrate their analytical ability, expression and persuasion skills, practical professional skills and motivation to have and develop a commercial practice. Candidates are required to have a minimum of a second class degree (the minimum qualification level in the Bar Qualification Manual) and be in a position to have been called to the Bar by the commencement date of pupillage. Otherwise, there are no formal academic requirements to apply or be selected for pupillage with us.

Tenancy
Pupillage doesn't guarantee you a tenancy at Contract Law Chambers, but we treat every pupil within Chambers as a potential candidate.   You will not be in competition with the other pupils, but with yourself.

Financial and Other Support Available
While we guarantee the minimum earnings expected income of our pupils is normally in excess of £25,000.

Equality Diversity and Inclusion
Contract Law Chambers is committed to the furtherance of equality and diversity at the Bar.  We are an equal opportunities employer.  We encourage and welcome applications from women, people of minority ethnic origin and people with disabilities, as well as candidates from other groups which are underrepresented in the legal sector.

Any Other Relevant Information
Following a review of all applications, we contact candidates, either to invite them to interview or to inform them that their application has been unsuccessful.
