Pupillage Vacancy Information

About the AETO

Chambers are pleased to be able to offer the following pupillages:

  • 12 month pupillage in mixed common law commencing September 2024;
  • Up to 3 x 12 month pupillages in mixed common law commencing September 2025.

Fenners Chambers is a warm and welcoming set based in Cambridge. It has a strong reputation for advocacy across many jurisdictions.

Structure of Pupillage

Our common law pupillage is structured in two halves. Pupils will have one formal Pupil Supervisor throughout their pupillage. However, training during the first six months of pupillage is divided into three specialisms: civil, family and crime. Pupils will spend two months in each of these areas during which they will be assigned a Seat Supervisor who practices in the relevant specialism. The second six months of pupillage will entail pupils receiving their own briefs to attend court, whilst continuing their training alongside their Pupil Supervisor and other Members of Chambers.

Please note: For the mixed common law pupillages, we are recruiting for both September 2024 and September 2025. In the event that you wish to apply for both 2024 and 2025 please only submit one application and make it clear in your application that you are able to start either year.
