Four Brick Court – Opportunity for Solicitor to Transfer to the Bar– July 2026 onwards

Pupillage Vacancy Information

About Authorised Education and Training Organisation

Four Brick Court is a leading specialist family law set in the Temple. Chambers is ranked in Legal 500 for its commitment and specialism in the fields of Children and Domestic Abuse. Multiple members are also individually ranked in Chambers & Partners. We have a large presence in the main family law centres across London as well as outer London courts and further afield. Chambers undertakes all aspects of family law work and has a forward-looking approach and a commitment to family and social justice.

Structure of Pupillage

Alongside its recruitment of two 12 month pupils Four Brick Court is also offering one pupillage opportunity for a solicitor transferring to the Bar. This pupillage may be shorter in length subject to the applicant obtaining exemptions from the requirement to undertake a full 12 month pupillage.

Suitable applicants would need to be legal professionals with considerable existing and recent experience in the field of family law (including significant advocacy experience), such as family law solicitors who are looking to transfer to the Bar.

The precise structure of the pupillage would be dependent on the specific exemption and training requirements of the successful applicant.

This pupillage would be available to start from July 2026 onwards, the start date being flexible depending upon the successful applicant's circumstances.

Financial and Other Support Available

A pro rata sum of our usual pupillage award (£26,000 award paid over 9 months) would be paid for any period of non-practising pupillage. The specific financial support available will also be informed by the exemption and training requirements of the successful applicant.
