Pupillage Vacancy Information
About AETO and structure of pupillage
Garrick Law is a well-established criminal and family law firm based in the heart of London.
We are offering one funded pupillage commencing September 2025 for a period of 12 months, comprising a six-month non-practising period followed by a six-month practising period. The pupillage is in crime.
During the first six, the pupil will shadow their pupil supervisor and other members of Garrick Law, conducting research and assisting with case preparation. During the second six, the pupil will undertake court work and paperwork in their own right, remaining under the supervision of their pupil supervisor.
Financial and other support available
Funding will be no less than the minimum award recommended by the Bar Council.
Equality diversity and inclusion
Garrick Law is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of its work, including pupillage recruitment and training. All vacancies are advertised openly via the Pupillage Gateway to ensure equality of opportunity. Applications are considered solely on merit, irrespective of sex, race, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief, or marital status.
Where possible, application forms are shortlisted anonymously with personal data removed. Applicants are asked to complete an equal opportunities monitoring questionnaire in accordance with the BSB's Equality and Diversity Code; this is used for monitoring purposes only and plays no part in selection decisions.
Garrick Law recognises that not all applicants have equal access to formal legal opportunities. Our assessment criteria are designed to allow candidates to demonstrate relevant skills and experience drawn from any aspect of their lives, and we take into account contextual information and the extent to which an applicant has overcome disadvantage.
Garrick Law is committed to making reasonable adjustments for disabled candidates and pupils. Requests should be directed to the Pupillage Committee. Harassment and bullying of any kind are prohibited under our Anti-Harassment Policy, and all complaints are handled under our formal Grievance Procedure.
