Chambers is equally committed to the wellbeing of their members and pupils. Pupils establish a close relationship with their pupillage supervisor and are well supported by all members throughout the pupillage year. Lincoln House ensures that their pupils are tested and developed throughout pupillage whilst taking care of their wellbeing (both physical and mental).
Chambers also fund all compulsory training courses during pupillage.
How to Apply
Aspiring barristers are invited to apply to chambers between Wednesday 4 January 2023 and Wednesday 8 February 2023 using the Pupillage Gateway application system to search for the relevant Pupillage Vacancy and selecting ‘Apply for this pupillage’.
In addition to the standardised Bar Council questionnaire, candidates will be asked to respond to the following questions from Chambers:

About Chambers
Lincoln House Chambers is regarded nationally for its ability to field advocates across a number of specialist areas. These include financial, serious and general crime, regulatory and professional discipline as well as public inquiry work. Members’ practice areas also include personal injury including catastrophic injury, industrial disease and clinical negligence, as well as asylum and immigration work. Chambers’ reputation for excellence is such that Lincoln House has a caseload that includes many of the major criminal and regulatory cases of the day.
There are 76 members, comprising 19 Queen’s Counsel and 58 Juniors. A substantial number of the members hold judicial positions and a number of distinguished former members have gone on to careers on the Bench. Many senior members of chambers sit as Recorders, Coroners or other part-time judges. The leading guides identify Lincoln House and its members as among those who truly lead the field. This year Chambers and Partners identified members as class leaders in several practice areas, including inquests, public inquiry, health and safety, financial crime and general crime. We recruit pupils with the ambition to join our tradition of excellence. The challenging nature of our work means that we expect candidates to combine academic excellence with a strong practical ability to resolve real-life problems and demonstrate sound judgement. There is a strong collaborative approach in the training of our pupils, with an emphasis placed on developing candidates’ advocacy and ability to build strong productive relationships within the team.
About Pupillage
In the current year we plan to recruit up to three pupils to join us at Lincoln House for a 2024 start, each will be with a view to tenancy, we envisage every pupil being offered a tenancy upon successful completion of their pupillage, subject to their approval by the Tenancy Committee.
Pupils receive a comprehensive programme of training and guidance which gives successful candidates the best start to their career at the bar, pupillages are all common law and experience all areas of chambers work. Chambers also pay for all compulsory training courses during pupillage and offer a competitive pupillage award.
