Nexus, the Chambers of Michael Mansfield KC – 12 Months – October 2025

Pupillage Vacancy Information

About AETO and Structure of Pupillage
Nexus is a common law set that offers pupillage within the main practice areas of crime, family and general civil law.
Nexus' pupils can expect to shadow, assist and learn from our diverse members and their respective practice areas.  During your first six months you can expect to be under the guidance of two pupil supervisors with varying practice areas and working methods.

Reviews and training sessions are periodically undertaken throughout pupillage with feedback provided, in particular during the second six (practicing period) that shall include a review with the practice managers to discuss work load and client based feedback (if applicable).

During the 6-month practicing period pupils will predominately find themselves in  the criminal courts, with the opportunity to undertake regular family hearings and the occasional civil hearing.

Financial and Other Support Available
Funding of Chambers' pupillage's is equally divided between an award during first six and guaranteed earnings in second six in line with the minimum funding awards as set by the Bar Council and the Bar Standard Board. A Welfare Officer is also available in Chambers to offer support when needed.
