Pupillage Vacancy Information
The pupillage award for those recruited in the 2023 competition will be £27,000 This consists of £12,000 pupillage grant in the first six and £15,000 guaranteed income in the second six months, although in our experience pupils receipts far exceed this in their second six months, whichever practice area(s) they choose.
Pupils are supported by the Director of Pupillage, a mentor who is a recent pupil or junior tenant and a supportive and sociable junior tenant cohort.
We also have a wellbeing committee, mentors, book club, choir, regular social events and engage in sporting activities run by the North Eastern Circuit.

From our client-focused home on Park Square, we offer the highest standards of advice, representation, mediation and legal training across the fields of civil law, criminal law, family law and regulatory & public law. We have 174 members and 13 silks.
Park Square Barristers prides itself on the high quality training, support and guidance offered to all pupils to ensure that they have the best possible start in their careers at the bar. Pupillage is offered with a view to tenancy.
We are recruiting four pupils across 2023 and 2024. One of those pupillages will focus on Family and Court of Protection work. The other three pupillages will be common law pupillages which will be flexible, to fit with the practice preferences of the selected candidates.
Candidates will be supported by up to two pupil supervisors in their preferred practice areas. In the first six pupils will carry out research, draft opinions and other documents for court, read and prepare cases with their supervisor and attend court daily with their supervisor.
During the second six months pupils can expect to be in court most days, undertaking their own court work whilst under supervision.
