Pupillage Vacancy Information
About Authorised Education and Training Organisation and Structure of Pupillage
Lamb Building is a long-established common law set located in the Temple, in the heart of London, with an annexe in the centre of Brighton.
Pupillage at Lamb Building is expected to last 12 months. As Chambers covers a wide range of work we are usually able to allocate supervisors who practice in the areas of particular interest to our pupils.
Each pupil will have a supervisor and a secondary supervisor. The supervisors need not practice in the same area of law and are often from varying levels of call. The intention is to provide as much flexibility as possible within pupillage and offer a wide ranging training programme. With this in mind, every four months pupils will receive a new supervisor team and are encouraged to experience the range of work available in Chambers.
We embrace the use of technology to increase the efficiency of our training and advocacy training will take place throughout the year.
Supervisors are available in crime, family and civil.
Financial and Other Support Available
Each successful pupil will receive funding of £25,000.00 over the course of the 12 month pupillage. This consists of a grant of £12,500.00 for the first six and guaranteed minimum earnings of £12,500.00 for the second six.
How much a pupil can earn over and above the guaranteed minimum in their second six is affected by a variety of factors such as the work load at the time and the practice area they work in.
Pupils are provided with financial support in relation to travel expenses and chambers will cover the cost of any compulsory courses which are attended during the first six.
